We are all in the middle of the Thanksgiving and Christmas Seasons, and I know you are each as busy as I am!
We do want to get some dates on your 2025 calendar so you can hopefully participate with us.
1. The next BOG will be January 25 in Jackson at the VFW located at 285 Airways Blvd. The hotel for those staying Friday night is the Doubletree located at 1770 Hwy 45 Byp. I am sure there will be a casual dinner Friday night with whoever is in town. Stay tuned for those details.
Then we will start at 9am Saturday morning joining the opening ceremony with the TNSSAR. Afterward, we will adjourn for our own meeting. We will also be helping provide the lunch for everyone. Please make plans to join us!
2. The annual State Meeting for the TNSSAR will be March 21-22 in Lebanon. We will have Saturday’s meetings at the Wilson County Fairgrounds, and the Friday night reception/Saturday night banquet will be at the Lebanon Golf and Country Club.
We have a tentative Saturday morning schedule, hosted by the local DAR Chapter, for coffee and a tour of Fite-Fessenden House, an historical building in Lebanon. For lunch, there is the option of attending the Youth Luncheon and hearing our oration contestants as well as the posters presented.
For Saturday night, we will be decorating for the banquet. This should be a fun time for us and helpful for the guys. The banquet is formal or period dress.
Please let us know if there are any questions or suggestions with any of these plans. We can’t wait to see all of you again.
Have a wonderful and safe holiday!
Rebekah Chaffin, TNSSAR Ladies Auxiliary President
Purpose of the Ladies Auxiliary
The Purpose of the Ladies Auxiliary of the TNSSAR is to maintain a non-profit association of women interested in the patriotic, historical, and educational objectives of the TNSSAR and to support their goals and activities.
Membership is open to female supporters of TNSSAR with the completion of the membership form and payment of dues ($10/year or $100 lifetime). By joining the TNSSAR Ladies Auxiliary, that automatically puts you in the National Ladies Auxiliary.
The goals of the Auxiliary are to stimulate greater interest in and support of the Society, to assist them in the promotion of SAR membership and in furthering the objectives and patriotic activities of the SAR which are declared to be historical, patriotic, and educational.
The Auxiliary seeks to help with the quarterly BOG, the yearly state meeting, and participate in the yearly Congress and twice a year Leadership in Louisville. The Auxiliary also seek ways to raise money to help with the state youth awards.
The Auxiliary meets four times a year when the TNSSAR Board of Governors meets. The National and State Auxiliaries both have beautiful pins you may purchase and wear!
We welcome anyone desiring to join our group of women! For more information, or to receive an application, contact Rebekah Chaffin, President, LA-TNSSAR, (423) 280-0525, ladiesauxiliary@tnssar.org.
